YES! Every product is made at our family-owned facility in Massachusetts. As well, our ingredients are sourced from suppliers in the United States; specifically: California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Wisconsin .

No, and here’s why. The only ingredient that could be somewhat questionable regarding gluten is the oat we use in our face masks and scrubs. But, all the research we obtained from the Chicago Celiac Disease Center before including oats into those products suggest that oats are technically gluten-free since they aren’t a type of wheat, barley or rye grain, the three groups of whole grains that naturally contain the protein gluten. Instead of containing gluten, oats actually have a protein called avenins. Avenin is a protein similar to gluten, however, research has shown that most people with celiac disease can safely eat avenin.

Problems can occur if oats are produced in the same place as wheat, barley and rye, as the oats can become contaminated with these other grains. Because our oats are USDA certified organic we are very confidant that contamination is unlikely given that avoiding cross-contamination is a major consideration when issuing a USDA organic certification; we know, we’ve been through it. Therefore, with all that, we didn’t find there to be a need to be certified as gluten-free.

YES! Every product and product ingredient is both raw and vegan. Raw means that we do not heat any ingredient above 100-degree F. In fact, the only ingredients we warm are the shea butter and coconut oil for the body moisturizer. They are warmed only to the point where they become soft enough to easily mix with the other ingredients and achieve the creamy texture. Absolutely not!

While ALL of our products meet the criteria of both EWG (Environmental Working Group) and MADE SAFE, their annual verification processing fee is, simply put, too costly for us. It would cost us tens of thousand of dollars ANNUALLY for all of our products to receive these verifications. Every one of our product ingredients is listed on our packaging and our website. We welcome any questions you have about our ingredients and the source of our ingredients but for the time being we prefer to keep our product prices affordable.

Yes! Our toothpaste is USDA certified organic (which you already know) but the ingredients are also food-grade. So, there is nothing in there that would hurt a child. The question; however, is the lack of fluoride. Many public water supplies add fluoride which is controversial in itself but we at Made Simple consciously decided to not include fluoride given the nature of our product. There are so many more components to healthy teeth (and body) that adding more chemicals isn’t the answer.

We considered creating a more “kid friendly” line of toothpaste meaning it would be sweeter to the taste but haven’t because we honestly believe that getting kids to brush their teeth shouldn’t be about getting a treat; so to speak. Starting with something natural at an early age might break that all too common habit of thinking that toothpaste should taste like candy and must kill instead of enrich the already anti-bacterial agents in your mouth. Sorry kids!

Here’s the thing about products that don’t contain any fillers or stabilizers, in warmer temperatures the products with coconut oil can soften. However, just because the toothpaste isn’t quite “paste” it’s still just as good and the same for our deodorants. We decided that it was simply OK to be a little different for the sake of having a truly natural product. If the softness is of concern, simply keep the toothpaste and/or deodorants below 76-degrees or put it in the refrigerator.

Nope! We ship through the USPS using a flat rate plus shipping is FREE with an order of $85 or more. Even so, plastic is horrible stuff and we want nothing to do with it. We will always use glass jars and bottles and metal lids.

We ship either USPS Ground Advantage, USPS Priority, or USPS Overnight. Orders placed before 2 p.m. on any weekday will be shipped the same day. Orders placed over the weekend will be shipped on Monday. Once your order has shipped, a tracking number will be emailed to you. For orders under $85, we charge flat-rate shipping fee of $5.95 (Ground Advantage), $12.95 (Priority) or $42.00 (Overnight). For orders over $85, shipping is free. Our goal is to get you your order as quickly as possible at a reasonable cost.

You have our guarantee that we will do our best to ensure you receive the absolute finest product on earth. However, should you not be 100% satisfied, please let us know. Because of the nature of our products, we do not offer refunds nor accept returns unless it was a packaging error on our part. However, we will provide a substitute sample product of your choosing, free-of-charge, if you are not satisfied with your purchase.

Dislike of scent, product consistency changes, allergic reaction or taste do not apply under the guarantee since that’s a personal choice.

Unlike returning a pair of pants, for example, there is nothing we can do with a returned product other than discard it. For that reason, we offer and encourage customers to purchase a sample if they are at all unsure whether a particular product is right for them.

Although every effort is made to ensure a safe delivery, sometimes an order is damaged during shipment. We want to know if something arrives to you in a damaged condition. To begin the process, we will require that you take pictures of the damaged product(s), and box material if relevant then email them to Made Simple using the same email that confirmed your order (or the email with your tracking number.)

Remedies for damaged parcels will be determined on a case by case situation.  Remedies will include:  A re-ship of product, or in store credit only.  We will email you once our determination is made.

Lost packages at the hands of a carrier are indeed a bummer.  We get that!  As the shipper, we are not responsible for parcels that we have correctly shipped. If your parcel becomes lost, please email us and we will contact the carrier to open a claim.  Ultimately, however, it is the carrier’s decision on how they wish to handle the claim.  If they accept responsibility, we will work out the details on getting a new shipment to you.  If they do not accept responsibility, this issue is between you and the carrier. Made Simple does not provide refunds, credits or resends on parcels that were correctly shipped from our facility without the carrier accepting responsibility – this includes stolen parcels or if product is damaged upon receipt.

In order to maintain low minimums and reduced prices for all our customers, we do not honor free sample requests to the general public. Very reasonably priced samples are available for all of our products.

NO! Of course, humans are animals and when we play around to come up with a new product experience, we test it on ourselves first. Friends next! But we never test on non-humans of any kind.
